About DenverConcrete.com
We believe hiring a concrete contractor should feel straightforward.
The ground we know, town by town
Since 1989, our team has poured concrete across the Front Range, from Longmont to Monument. The 45 communities we serve sit on four very different kinds of ground, and each one asks something different of a driveway, patio or slab. Here is where each kind is, and what we do about it.

Colorado ground questions →Expansive clay plains
Bentonite clay and claystone of the Denver Basin, the most common ground in the metro.
Under the slab: Remove the soft and organic soil, bring in compacted road base, set rebar on chairs, and plan joints and slope so water runs away from the house instead of soaking the clay beside it.
Foothills and tilted bedrock
Steep lots along the hogback, where claystone and shale layers tilt up toward the mountains.
Under the slab: Deeper excavation and a thicker compacted base, reinforcement sized for uneven support, and drainage that intercepts runoff above the slab, often paired with a retaining wall where the grade demands it.
River sand and gravel
Sand, gravel and silt laid down along the South Platte, Clear Creek and St. Vrain.
Under the slab: Compaction done in lifts, geotextile fabric where the native soil is soft, and a thicker section anywhere a truck, trailer or RV will park.
Palmer Divide uplands
The high ridge between Denver and Colorado Springs, roughly 6,000 to 7,300 feet, on sandy soils with clay seams.
Under the slab: Air-entrained exterior mix, proper curing, a penetrating sealer before the first winter, and a broom texture for traction on sloped driveways.
A new company, with a long track record behind it
DenverConcrete.com is a new company. The people behind it are not new to this. They have poured driveways, patios and slabs across the Front Range since 1989 as Sam The Concrete Man, and that is where our 35+ years of experience comes from.
The reviews on this site were earned during those years, and we credit them that way.
